Who Are We?

UTB, Ultimate Team Birmingham, was a regional Ultimate team for the West Midlands, formed by a group of local players from various teams to develop Ultimate in the region and give a focus for player improvement. The aim was to create a squad able to compete at the highest level in the UKU Tour events. Unfortunately despite knocking on the door of A-Tour qualification on a couple of occassions there was never a sufficient number of players in the Birmingham area to build a consistent squad. This website is a tribute to the players who worked so hard for UTB's success, a snapshot of Midlands Ultimate from the start of the century and an ongoing resource for Ultimate in the West Midlands. Many of the pages are not currently updated but the contacts, practices and especially the diary page should be. What Is Ultimate?

"Ultimate is a fast athletic team sport played by men and women on a field similar to an American Football pitch. The game is played without referees - players make their own foul calls."

How Do I Join?

UTB is no longer a going concern but there are several teams in the region who welcome beginners and experienced players alike. To find out more send us an email - check out the contacts section or check out the midlandfrisbee group on Yahoo! Alternatively just go along to a practice but please be aware that these are occasionally cancelled or rescheduled and it is usually best to contact the team in question first.
